This truck was originally purchased by the Hornell New York Fire Department. It was delivered on June 2, 1935. It is a Type 460 R.D.B. Junior Aerial. The unit has a 600 gallon per minute American LaFrance rotary gear two-stage fire pump. The motor is the American LaFrance "G" series 12 cylinder gasoline engine which develops 142 horse power, it is coupled to a Brown-Lipe 3 speed manual transmission. The motor is equipped with a Zenith downdraft carbureator. It has 24 spark plugs, two per cylinder powered by two distributors. This apparatus is equipped with a 150 gallon booster tank. It also features a Peter Pirsch 50' wooden Junior Aerial ladder. This ladder is spring raised and extended and rotated by hand cranks. To our knowlege this is the first "quint" manufactured by American LaFrance.
