Title: Mindtools Web Page

Description: In looking for "Mindtools" on the web, this site was one of the hits. The experienced surfer might notice in the address that this is a commercial site. It turns out that some of the "Mind Tools" (TM!!) they are talking about have to do with stress reduction and improving memory. However, there are links to articles and software that are indeed something akin to the Mindtools by Jonassen's definition in terms of software facilitating higher-order thinking. One important variance from the Jonassen model is that most of this software is not generic but specific. You are probably more likely to find something personally useful here than professionally.

Description: This is a page that summarizes most of Jonassen's Mindtool book. It bullets the major concepts about each Mindtool and then lists Jonassen suggested classroom uses. This might be a good place to refresh your own mind about what you read first hand or a good place to point others to that just want to cut to the chase (like another busy teacher or administrator).

Description: Strictly speaking this site might not qualify as a "Mindtool" resource as its focus is not the application of technology to facilitate critical thinking. It is however a wonderful resource for teachers to learn how to generally apply critical thinking strategies in their classrooms. Well worth your time!
