Photos of Fajada Butte
The Sun DaggerWhat about the "Sun Dagger," the petroglyph that marks various solar events? The Sun Dagger was high up on Fajada Butte. I never got to see it; I believe it has been destroyed by shifting of the stones that were part of it. However, this is the best photo I've ever seen, taken by Harrison Lapahie Jr, whose entire website is full of great info and photos of the Navajo Nation.

Whether you come in from the North Road or the South Road, you see Fajada Butte miles before you reach Chaco Canyon. The Butte rises out of a confluence of several canyons. It dominates the landscape for miles.
