Al Smutko Fan Club

This site is dedicated to Al Smutko, who is the construction co-ordinator on Star Trek: Voyager (Al also served in the same role on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and briefly on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as well). I'm one of the three co-founders of the ASFC, and have actually had the opportunity to meet Al in person (he's a really cool guy). Our club's site includes Al's biography, information on how you can join the club, and photos from when Al took Chris and me on a tour of the Voyager set.

Star Wars

George Lucas' site for all things Star Wars. It has a lot of background information on the original trilogy, as well as the new movies, including some pre-production tidbits from Episode II, which begins production this summer in Australia.

The Force.net

An excellent fan-written web site about Star Wars. They are an active clearing-house for rumors and scuttlebutt concerning Episode II, but also have a great deal of current information on just about anything else related to Star Wars that you can think of. Two of my favorite features on TF.N include "Troops", a hilarious video satire that crosses the TV show "Cops" with the Imperial forces on Tatooine, and "Bungo 'n' Rusti", a very funny Star Wars comic strip.

Echo Station

Another well-done fan site for Star Wars, this online magazine has reviews of various Star Wars spin-offs, interviews with authors, humor, and opinions. I've contributed several articles on the Star Wars Role-Playing Game to Echo Station.

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5

An unofficial but exhaustive site dedicated to B5, which, for my money, was the most richly-developed and internally consistent sci-fi series ever made. Although B5's five-year run ended over a year ago, the Sci-Fi Channel will be showing reruns starting this fall. The Lurker's Guide features synopses and analyses of each episode, tons of background information, and lots more. J. Michael Straczynski (B5's creator) is a contributor to the site.

The Mallorean Tavern

This fan-run site is devoted to the fantasy novels written by David and Leigh Eddings (my personal favorite is the Elenium series). It has quite a bit of information on the Eddings' works.
