1954 Ford Popular (Anglia)

This Ford Pop was purchased by me at a car show in Glasgow, Scotland. As I live in Essex, England, I had to drive it 450 miles home after the show, so I certainly got to give it a good test drive. It behaved impeccably and never gave me any trouble all the time I owned it. This was a truly British Hot Rod, featuring fully independant Jag rear and Vauxhall Viva front suspension, MGB steering and a Ford 3.1 litre V6. The engine was modified with stage II heads, Hepolite pistons and a half race cam producing about 200 bhp, and take it from me this car was quick.

The roof had been chopped by 4 inches and the bulkhead moved back about 6 inches to fit the engine in. I drove the car during some of the winter months, which was quite a task as it had no heater. Who said "Hot Rod's were only for the summer months". Where is it now?, anybody know?, if so e-mail me on mjread@aol.com. For other "wild rides", Why select one of the others below.
