V8 Trike

I starting building this trike in 1985 after reading an article on Ed Roth. I had an old Ford 302 V8 and Jag rear axle lying around, so down to the metal merchants I went. "I'll have 60 feet of that lovely pipe there please", and off I went to the man with the pipe bender around the corner. "Can you put some 60% bends in this lot", and he obliged.

When I got home I cut and marked out the frame rails on the garage floor, positioned the rear axle, engine and gearbox, out came the welding torch and the project was "on it's way" (see below). Four years later after many problems and much work, I had completed what you see in front of you.

The Jag rear axle was an ideal accessory to a project like this. Where established engineering meets attention to detail. Chrome Jag rears may take a bit of polishing but they give the desired effect.

Ed Roth gave up building V8 trikes because he said "they killed people". Well luckily I lived to tell the tale and went on to construct other "wild rides". Why not select one of the others below. Where is it now?, anybody know?, if so e-mail me on mjread@aol.com
