I, Robot
I finally got one! 3 years of searching finally turned one up in Oklahoma, of all places. Well, a 30 hour round trip later, and it was MINE! Muahahah! Er..anyways, the board had some serious problems, so it is currently in the shop being fixed. Fixing it was beyond my realm of knowledge. I just want it to work ;-)
UPDATE!!!!
As of Saturday, April 22, 2000, I, Robot serial #29 has been brought back
to life! That's right, it LIVES! (A million thanks go out to Ed Henciak,
who went above and beyond the call of duty and played God with my I, Robot
and brought it back from the dead. Ed, I can never thank you enough!)
Above: Betcha don't see an I, Robot sitting right next to a mint Robotron mini everyday!
Above: The control panel is kinda cracked...it doesn't interfere with gameplay, but i eventually would like to replace it. Note the new style Atari Hall effect stick...much more reliable than the original I, Robot stick.
Above: The left side of the machine. Side art is in 9.999 condition ;-)
Above: Right side. Missing just a tiny bit of the artwork at the top/left side. Otherwise, awesome.
Above: The full right side. The thing i always liked about I, Robot was the way the sideart looked on the cabinet. It is such a cool cabinet!
Above: Kind of hard to see, but sure enough, seial number 29! I guess it would have been kind of cool to have #1984, but they didn't make that many ;-)
Above: What a rats nest! But lo and behold, it works, and that is really all that matters! Note the new switching power supply on the right hand side.
