Brinkmann Rebel 2D cell 4 LED Flashlight
The Brinkmann Rebel 2D runs on 2D cell alkaline batteries for exceptionally
long runtime.
It uses four 5mm nichia LEDs and can be switched to run on only 2 LEDs
for even longer run-time.
It is constructed of ABS plastic and has a rubberized grip and bezel
end.
There is a push button on/off switch near the bezel end. Just
above the switch there are small dots
on the bezel that indicate what mode you are in (4 LED or 2 LED).
There is no focus on this light, just as there is no focus on many
LED lights but you can
twist the head to select between 2 or 4 LED operation. The rubberized
bezel end is a nice
touch as it should absorb some shock if the light is dropped.
The 4 LEDs each have magnifiers in front of them that focus the light
into a narrow beam.
This gives the light a lot of throw at the expense of having a very
narrow beam with little side spill light.
Here is a shot of the Opalec Newbeam 3LED module against the Brinkmann
running on all 4 LEDs.
Here is a comparison between the Arc LSH and the Brinkmann running
on 2 LEDs.
Notice how focused the beam is and how you can see the filaments in
the LEDs.
