SureFire KL1
LED Bezel (Old Style)
Produced by Surefire

The SureFire KL1 is a digitally regulated LED bezel upgrade for the
Surefire E1(e) & E2(e).
It will run at 100% brightness in the E2(e) for 4.5 hours & near
100% brightness in the E1(e)
for 1.5 hours followed by many additional hours of low level light
output.
The KL1 produces ~17 lumens for 4.5 hours of continuous brightness
on
the E2 & E2e.
The KL1 produces ~17 lumens for 1.5 hours of continuous brightness
on the E1 & E1e.

Here is the newest shipping version with a beveled edge so when you
place it face down while
it's on you will see light seeping out. It's a great concept
that can keep you from accidentally
running down your batteries.

The KL1 bezel is just slightly longer than the original bezel and will
fit on all E series Surefires.
Using the KL1 on a non-Elite E1 or E2 means you have to give up the
pocket clip since it was
attached to the bezel. The new Executive Elite series has the
pocket clip attached the body.

This gives you an idea of the physical size increase of the KL1
compared
to the standard bezel.

Runtime tests I have done show that with the KL1 on the E2 I get 4
hours & 10 minutes of constant brightness.
With the E1 I get over 1 3/4 hours of near constant (90%)
brightness,
dropping to 70% at 2 hours and 30% at 2 1/4 hours.

This is a comparison shot between the stock E1 @ 15 lumens and the
Surefire KL1 @ 17 lumens.

This is a comparison shot between the E2 w/MN02 @ 25 lumens and the
Surefire KL1 @ 17 lumens.

This is a comparison shot between the Surefire KL1, Arc LS running
at ~400mA
and an Arc LS1 rev2 running at 330mA.
