The southwestern states have many opportunities for river recreation, but very few are appropriate for an extended trip by open canoe.  The mountain regions have some superb whitewater rivers.  The Colorado River through the Grand Canyon is the premier river destination in the country.  However, these trips are generally enjoyed best in a raft or kayak.

California has some nice canoe streams, but few if any that are suitable for a trip of more than a few days..

In Labyrinth and Stillwater Canyons on the Green River, we find the region's best canoe stream.  If you float the Green, we predict it will be one of the most memorable expeditions you will ever undertake.
