"berg" means "mountain".
Gould admired the beautiful mountain.
For him 'Goldberg' means nothing.
Bach created the complete tonal music.
But his music became so complicated that it went beyond the realm of tonality. Schoenberg should have been the successor of J. S. Bach.
Bach's music is an architecture.
Schoenberg's music is an aerospace structure.
