MOLY - BORE Product Use Description page

How to use Moly-Bore products?
What is Moly-Bore for; how will it help me and how do I get going?
Moly-Bore is a high-tech, high-pressure dry lubricant
that coats your inside barrel surfaces. It gets there by rubbing off the
bullets that you've coated with the process described below. When you fire
a cartridge, it lubricates the shooting process. Moly-Bore protects and
helps your firearm while shooting. The other processes don't work like
ours. We don't hammer your bullets to deformity. We don't spit on a couple
of millionths + some binder or adhesive from a spray can. And we don't
shake your bullets around in some black dust that wipes off during reloading.
We burnish it onto your bullets leaving a hard silvery finish. Besides,
Moly-Bore Supreme has an extra special ingredient
that theirs don't have!
If you really want to see your groups shrink, you gotta
give this process an honest try. It works in target rifles, service rifles,
target pistols and all other firearms.
Please note: If your barrel is already tired with several
thousands of rounds through it, this process will probably not improve
its accuracy. If your barrel chamber is already crystalized or burned out,
have your gun rebarreled first then break it in with Moly-Bore.
Pistol shooters:
-
Your barrel will last longer as throat erosion will be
slowed down.
-
Moly-Bore will provide faster gun clean-up by minimizing
firing residue and gum.
-
If you shoot jacketed bullets, you'll get higher velocities
without changing your powder charge.
-
You can shoot lead bullets without gas checks to higher velocities
without barrel leading.
-
If you cast & size your own bullets, you can replace
the messy-to-use groove grease with a tumbled-on dry lube & get
rid of that heavy lube smoke in the indoor range.
-
You'll shoot many more boxes of ammo before you have
to clean up your firearm & mags.
Rifle shooters:
-
You'll get twice as many rounds out of a barrel using
Moly-Bore coated bullets.
-
Attain higher bullet velocities and flatter bullet paths
with the same powder charge.
-
Chamber pressures will drop as your bullet traverses
your barrel faster.
-
The barrel will stay cleaner longer & give you
GREAT BARREL conditions at your 600 yard stage.
-
The receiver and barrel will stay cooler during those
rapid-fire strings.
-
Can't believe it? Well, get out your chronograph &
take it to the range. Check your velocity before & then after 20 Moly'd
shots (with Moly-Bore, of course). You'll see!
How do I get started? What do I need to buy? How do I
do this?
-
First, buy one of our kits - see the Products page and how
to order.
-
If you have a tumbler, buy another bowl dedicated just for
this process & don't use this bowl for any other tumbling (note: a
vibratory unit works best). Keep other contamination out of this process.
-
If you need a tumbler, buy one from your local gun shop or
catalog company. The type similar to the Lyman 1200 without the media drainer
is a good one. The bowl size for the Lyman 600 is ideal. It fits on the
1200 base.
-
Buy a flour sifter at your local grocery or hardware store.
It should be at least 6" in diameter with a medium-fine metal mesh.
-
Save your next 1-2 quart plastic tub from the kitchen. The
kiddie's sand pail will also do.
-
Follow the instructions in your Moly-Bore kit.
-
Before starting, clean your bullets by tumbling them for
a half hour in clean brass tumbling media then roll them on a clean cloth
to take off the media dust.
-
Now use your dedicated Moly-Bore bowl and pour the Moly-Bore
treated media in.
-
Tumbling up to two boxes of .30 cal. to three boxes of .223
cal. is a good starting point.
-
Run the tumbler per Moly-Bore instructions.
-
When done, gently pour the media through the sifter into
the pail. Your bullets will have a gray-silvery even finish. Pour the media
back into the Moly-Bore bowl for the next job.
-
They're ready for your reloading process.
-
Before breaking in your barrel, be sure to THOROUGHLY CLEAN
it and keep it DRY.
-
Follow the Moly-Bore break-in instructions and watch your
shot-to-shot accuracy improve.
-
For best results, follow the instructions provided with the
kit.
Neck dip lube kit (for neck sizing only):

-
Dip the case mouth into the Moly-Bore neck lube media, gently
twist it 1/4 turn, lift up to let media drain out then place the case on
your shell holder.
-
Run the case into your neck-size die as usual for sizing.
-
When it comes out of the die, it'll have a silvery neck -
Moly lube.
-
Notice how easy & effortlessly your die slips into and
out of your case.
-
No neck stretching, no case scratching, no messy lube to
clean up!
-
Leave the lube on the neck and continue with your loading
process.
-
That's it. Simple, huh?
