Question: What
equipment is needed?
Answer:
If you purchase a Moly-Bore kit, any type of tumbler
or vibratory unit will produce excellent results. If using steel balls,
then a rotary tumbler works best (use one without a rubber liner).
Question: What
does the process do?
Answer:
By tumbling the bullets in our special media, a microscopic film of Moly
is transferred from the media to the surface of the bullets. The coating
is impregnated onto the surface of the bullet and will
not rub off while handling, as other brands do. When the round
is fired, the Moly is then transferred to the surface of the barrel.
Question: How do
I clean my Moly-Coated barrel?
Answer:
Just complete 4 easy steps.
1. Push an oil or solvent-soaked
patch (such as Kroil or Hoppes No. 9) through the barrel.
2. Allow the barrel to soak
for 5 minutes.
3. Push a couple of dry
patches through the barrel.
4. A light gray film will
appear on the patches - job is now complete.
Question: When
will my barrel need cleaning?
Answer:
Experienced Moly-Bore shooters clean their barrels every
200-300 rounds.
Question: How many
shots does it take to coat the barrel?
Answer:
All barrels react differently. Normally 8-12 shots
are sufficient to coat your barrel.
Question: How long
does a kit last?
Answer:
The pre-treated media will coat more than 5000 .30 cal. bullets and the
replenish powder in the kit will coat more than 30,000 additional. The
mini-kit will treat about half as many as a full kit. Replenishment materials
are available if you need them, however.
