Moon Tree Circle was an eclectic coven begun in 1993 located in Columbia, Missouri. Our past projects have included public speaking, community sabbat gatherings, classes, legal handfastings, networking and referrals. Our most recent project has been to develop prison ministry for Wiccan inmates in the state of Missouri. We have been members of Covenant of the Goddess (COG), a national 501(c)3 federation of covens and solitary practitioners since 1995.

We became involved with developing an acceptance of Wicca in the state's prison system in 1994 through educational presentations. Since late 1997 we became active in helping the state draft a statement of accomodation for Wicca, and we have worked to find volunteers to go into various prisons and teach and guide inmate study circles and covens. There are at least 250 Wiccan inmates (in 2000) throughout the 16 or so state prisons. Many of these people have become interested in Wicca through reading books while they have been incarcerated. After meeting with inmates at different facilities we found most of them to be sincere and committed to their path.
