She Simply Is
By Jonathon W. Thompson
Copy right 1998

Like warm, late winter breeze
that breaths life back into frozen lands,
she consumes me in her resolve.
I reach for steady and
bath myself in her passage

Astonished, that having seen the death of winter
it all should rise to live again, the very same, then
gripped in ugly lifelessness now alive and beautiful,
growing and passing on and giving, I should only
ask from where it comes.

Quietly then, I realize she bears upon my heart
the power that awakens the world from it's
winters sleep, and death drips from me then
dries until a trace is not found.

Likened to ever present bird song
during the passing of spring,
neither is she diminished by the partaking.

She simply is.

Music was written for this song by Rod Zimmerman and was recorded in 1998.  Contact Rod to purchase a copy of his very beautiful rendition of this poem.
