Gathered French Lace surrounds the attached individual collar pieces pieced together to simulate lacy handkerchiefs. The collar can be embellished with simple French Knots, triple feather stitch, bullion roses or Silk Ribbon embroidery creating the look of old fashioned handkerchiefs. Ladies Jabot Blouse - Misses: 6-22
This blouse is a very good pattern to make as is or for a jumping off point for as many variations as you can think of. It's high collar makes it perfect for reproducing Victorian and Edwardian lace blouses. Or for example you could leave off the jabot or add the smocked one designed by Susan York as seen in Sew Beautiful in 1996. Pattern contains two collar variations, high neck or round collar, plus three different jabots. A classic look which can be adapted to recreate Victorian blouses, a very feminine addition to your wardrobe.

Smickety Smocks from South Africa
Such a lovely nightgown. I apologize for the photograph, will try and get a new one soon, but if you look carefully at the yoke you will see that it's lace and tucks with a button down front. The smocking comes from the yoke as well as on the sleeves. You can doll this nightgown up as much as you want or lengthen the sleeves and make it out of plain old flannel.
Smocking on the shoulders with ribbon weaving. Pattern comes with it's own smocking design. This blouse buttons down the front with two rows of buttons with the collar rolling over the edge (see it?). This blouse has been featured in Australian Smocking & Embroidery and The Book Smocking with Ribbon by Madeline Bird. Such a pretty blouse. I have seen this lengthened for a dress, just add in more buttons and a sash or belt.
