Angels
We Have Heard On High midi
O Holy Night
O holy night the stars are brightly
shining
This is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and his soul felt its worth
At thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
O hear the angels' voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine, O night
O night divine
At thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
O hear the angels' voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine, O night
O night divine
Do You Hear What I
Hear
Said the night wind to the little lamb,
"Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see?
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite,
With a tail as big as a kite."
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
"Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song high above the trees
With a voice as big as the the sea,
With a voice as big as the the sea."
Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
"Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold--
Let us bring him silver and gold,
Let us bring him silver and gold."
Said the king to the people everywhere,
"Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people, everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The Child, the Child sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light."
Angels We Have Heard On High
Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o'er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Shepherd why this jubilee,
Why your joyous strains prolong
What the gladsome tidings be,
Which inspire your heavenly song?
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Come to Bethlehem and
see,
Him whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord the newborn king.
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Gloria...In Excelsius Deo
Glory to God
The Angel said: "You have nothing to fear! I come to proclaim good
news to you -- tidings of great joy...This day in David's city a Savior has
been born to you...You will find an Infant in a manger wrapped in swaddling
clothes." Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly
host, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and peace on
earth to those on whom His favor rests."
Luke 2:10-14
Glory to God and peace to men: that is something for angels to sing about. And also something for us to work and pray for, day after day.
