While being chased, Steve, Mike and Snap stumble upon composer Frank Eastman's nearly lifeless body. The boys discover that Mr. Eastman has lost his entire life's savings because a former business partner has stolen his music and is producing a Broadway show without his participation. With the help of Eastman's daughter, Patsy, and the rest of the neighborhood kids, the three boys stage their own version of the show and also help to bring justice to the wronged composer.

NOTES

". . .it was a "let's put on a show" effort with Virginia Weidler and Ray McDonald subbing for Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. The results were pretty squirm-making. . ."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

"Curiously undernourished family musical in the wake of Babes In Arms: lots of talent but no star."
- Leslie Halliwell, Halliwell's Film Guide
