Captain Dad tells her she can't go on the cruise to Rio, but where there's a will, there's a Polly. The spunky teen becomes a stowaway, setting in motion a plot in which she plays Cupid for some passengers. . .and tries to convince an operatic star (Lauritz Melchior) of her singing skills." NOTES "Tireless Joe Pasternak was at it again, blending the light with the heavy in Luxury Liner. . .The romantic shipboard setting, with the help of Technicolor and all the handsome production values the studio could accord it, gave the film a glossy veneer that more than compensated for its lack of substance."
