PLOT SYNOPSIS

"Grayson played a Philadelphia heiress determined to become an opera star, and Lanza a singing truck driver whose virile good looks and powerful high C's sweep her off her feet. Several misunderstandings helped thicken a very thin plot. In the end, however, music rather than words proved to be the food of love, with the warring couple singing their way into each other's hearts (and ours.)"
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

NOTES

"With its full-to-overflowing mixture of classical music and popular standards, an easygoing, undemanding screenplay. . .it had the sweet smell of success stamped on to every frame."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

"Simple-minded vehicle for the first appearance of Mario Lanza."
- Leslie Halliwell, Halliwell's Film Guide
