Obedience

In obedience, dogs perform exercises demonstrating their usefulness to people. The Novice class includes basics like heeling, coming when called, and staying in sit and down positions for several minutes. The more advanced Open and Utility classes include retrieving, jumping, hand signal exercises and more. MRSSA spaniels are found competing successfully from Novice though Utility and up to Obedience Trial Championship levels. MRSSA holds an All-Breed Obedience Show-N-Go (obedience practice trial) in conjunction with its Annual Fun Match in July (see club events calendar).
