12-6-98 I had my dad go out at 1:30 a.m. to buy a Valentino! He was the 1st on line! Yaay! The store didn't open until 7:30...the line lasted so long it wrapped around the whole shopping center! Then he told me that he was freezing and he was going to get me back so bad! - Meg

Have a Great Beanie Day! I had a good chuckle about your addiction page. I copied it to read to my mother. She doesn't collect beanies but she is always going on beanie runs with my daughter and I. We even went on the cruise advertised in Beanie Mania. Mary Beth and Sara Nelson were there. Had great fun! We even have our two dogs trained to go on our hunts. We tell them we're going on a "Beanie Run" and they are both jumping at the door. They are as excited as we are!!

Better close now. I have orders from my daughter to make the daily phone calls. The stores know my voice by now!

7-8-98 Beanie Baby collector in Illinois -  Hi. My name is Marla,I have been to Branson.MO two times this year.   There is a store in Grand Village Shops,located on Hwy 76 "The Strip",that is named Bear Hollow. This store used to sell all kinds of teddy bears.Now their specialty is Ty Beanies and Ty plush animals. The store has a Ty sign hanging above the door. I can tell you that you can find just about any current beanie on the market at this store,depending on what has come in their shipment. My last trip there was in May over the Memorial Day weekend. At that time they had gotten a shipment of Princess Bears and sold them for $25 each.The day I was there they were selling Valentino and Curly for $15 each with a limit of 1 per customer.I heard an acquaintance the other day telling someone that a relative of theirs had purchased Princess at the same store for $10 recently. This store is definitely worth stopping in if you are in Branson,MO.

   Also,many other stores and specialty shops in Branson,MO sell Beanie Babies.The prices vary. I found Beanie prices ranging from $5 for currents to $100's for retirees.Some stores are selling strictly on the secondary market prices.One store I went to even offered to buy 5 beanies,any price,and get 1 free.I came home from Branson that weekend with over 20 Beanie's for me,my niece and my godchild.

Silver Dollar City in Branson also sells Beanie Babies. Last December I bought 2 Peace Bears for $6 each! This is what I don't understand. If Ty allows dealers to order 36 Beanie's per style per month,how do places like Silver Dollar City and Bear Hollow have hundreds of each style for sale,everyday? Are larger sales areas allowed to order more Beanie's each month? Is this possibly what is contributing to the small gift shops in the U.S. not getting there complete orders all at once? Only Ty knows,I guess...

7-13-98  I am crazy about Beanie babies and so are all the people I know. My friend and her mom had a hair appointment because her mom could not fix her hair right,so they called a professional to do it. They have been waiting for 5 months and on that same day they got a call about Glory's coming in at the hospital,so she skipped the appointment - went down town to and bought 2 Glory's. But she didn't care about her hair! So they have to wait a few months....My story is,I know 10 stores that get them in. I call each store 3 times a day. 7-1-98  Yesterday while walking casually through a local Mall I thought I would check out all of the beanie stores. As I walked in to the Hallmark I saw they had a Whisper and Ants,so I had to get them. My Dad said he only had enough for 1 so he had to call my mom - when she finally arrived it was 5:30 PM,I was there since 3:30 PM. Well,anyway I got them both...And that's my crazy addiction story.
