Who is MELISSA M. FOSTER?

First of all, Melissa Foster is not my real name. The name on my birth certificate and which I use everyday is a male name. I was born a male and live and work as a man. When I was born, I knew there was something unique about my life. And, as I matured I began to understand that I was transgendered. I had a feminine side, that made me feel good. So...when I began to understand and deal with my transgender concerns, I learned to express my feminine side. Melissa Foster is the name I use when interacting with other people as a female.

I am divorced, I have two children who are aware and accept Melissa. I live in the Southern California area about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles. I work for a large manufacturing company as a service representative which has given me the chance to travel throughout the world. I have been very active all my life in cycling and skating and enjoy going to the gym to workout. I love music, concerts, dancing. I enjoy going out, partying, and having a good time. I enjoy the cinema and getting a good video, spending a quite time at home with good friends. I have always corresponded with a lot of people. Now, I am learning a more efficient way to reach and communicate with my friends through the use of the computer and the World Wide Web.

I have been dressing since I was seven years old and have had my share of ups and downs . There was very little information about the transgendered lifestyle when I first came out. But, as time passed I began to find out more about the lifestyle and the things I could do to express my feminine side and to enjoy life. In doing this, I have been able to meet transgendered friends around the world. I also became very involved in the organizations of the transgendered community. I have written a number of articles for transgendered magazines and newspapers. I have played a large part on many documentaries filmed dealing with the transgendered community. Gender Expressions Outreach is a program that I started with some friends to help reach out to those who are just coming out. I have been very fortunate to be able to travel and visit organizations, support groups, conventions and beauty pageants, around the world.

I really enjoy meeting people, being able to communicate with them in hopes of meeting them and becoming good friends. In learning to express my transgendered lifestyle I have learned just how wonderful it is to be a transgendered person and the changes it has made in my life as a person. I will be sharing some of the many wonderful experiences that I have had over the years, through pictures and explanations which I hope will inspire you to experience your needs in life. I am also looking forward to meeting many new friends whether it is via the Internet or in person.
