About MUD

Our name is MUD, and we're proud of it. The Metuchen Underwater Divers have been around since the days when double-hose regulators were state-of-the scuba technology. We've updated our equipment since then, but we haven't lost the tight-knit, friendly feeling of a small club.

MUD meets on the second Monday of the month in Metuchen. In June, July and August, we meet on the fourth Monday, too. Check our calendar for our meeting dates, dive schedule and other activities.

Directions to Our Meetings

From the New Jersey Turnpike

Take Exit 10 to Interstate 287 North. Follow directions from 287.

From Staten Island

Take the Outer Bridge Crossing and follow signs to Interstate 287.

From Interstate 287

Take the Metuchen-Route 27 North exit. Follow Route 27 as it bends to the right and then the left. Turn left at Middlesex Avenue and then right at Central Avenue. Joey D's is one-half mile on the left.

From Route 1

Northbound--Watch sign for Metuchen at first exit after passing BJ's Wholesale Club-PJ Richards shopping center. This will put you onto Main Street in Metuchen. Turn left at Route 27 and right at Central Avenue. Joey D's is one-half mile on the left.

Southbound--Take the Metuchen exit just after passing Interstate 287. This will put you onto Main Street in Metuchen. Turn left at Route 27 and right at Central Avenue. Joey D's is one-half mile on the left.
