Lagers:
To Lager is to lay down. In German, a lager means a bed, a camp, a stockade
or a storehouse. A lager is a bottom fermented beer with a yeast that works
at cool temperatures. Lager yeasts produce beers that are characteristically
clean and rounded, though not always complex.
- Aztec Lager
- This "good beer" is brewed to taste like Corona, although we feel it is
far better. Aztec is a good lighter beer due to the addition of flaked rice
and mild hopping. This lager goes well with all Mexican food as well as anything
off the grill.
- Baja Brew
- This brew relies on fermentables to give a nice body while using very little
hop. A slightly higher alcohol "south of the border" recipe. This cerveza
has been brewed often in the warm months with great success.
- Beechwood Lager
- Here's a brew for all those armchair quarterbacks out there. This
Budweiser style is the recipe for those who like to stay with the drink they grew up with.
Here's to loyalty
- Bull Elephant Lager
- The Elephant name is representative of our Carlsberg style brew. This
lager has a light color with a slightly sweet undertone due to the wheat
grain. The mild Hallertau hop adds bitterness and aroma giving this beer a mass appeal.
- California Girl
- This Bavarian brew is very clean with subtle hop undertones. California
Girl is of a St. Pauli Girl style being slightly less bitter than our Beck's
style beer. A nice spring/summer drink for picnics.
- Canadian Dry Lager
- This is a lighter Canadian style brew very mild in flavor. Considering
the amount of fermentable sugar and the light finishing hop, Canadian Dry can
best be exemplified as a Molson Dry style.
- Charger Gold
- This is another mild interpretation of a pilsner style lager. Chager
Gold has somewhat more body than most other lagers because of the addition
of Munich Malt. It may be compared to Heineken.
- Hi-Ho Silver Lager
- Here is an extract beer that goes down very easy. If you can possibly
envision a micro-brewed Coors Light, this beer would be close.
- Honey-Bee Lager
- If you are a fan of honey, this one will knock your socks off. The corn
flakes lighten this one up a bit to bring out the hops with a wonderful honey
taste that is not overwhelming. Not only is it a great brew to drink, it smells
great brewing. In fact we have to keep the doors shut to keep the bees away.
- Pacific Coast Lager
- Pacific Coast Lager has a verynice combination of grains. The Munich has
has a subtle sweet flavor, Crystal is a little sweeter while the Chocolate
contributes a nice copper color. These grains along with a complex hopping
give this brew a nice look and pleasing taste.
- Revere's Lager
- This is our Samuel Adams style brew. Using pale and crystal malts, Revere's
is a very well-balanced, deep gold lager with a nice hop finish. A great one to
brew for the first time customer.
- Rocky Mountain Lager
- We can't leave out a microbrewed Coors style. Another recipe for those
loyals out there who like to stay with tradition.
