Paul Niesen, through Musik of Note, LLC, has completed two
CD/book collections of Psalms. The
first, titled God, In Your Goodness, was recorded in Virginia with
members of the Fort Belvoir Catholic Community's 9:30 contemporary folk group. From May 2001 to May 2002, Paul worked
with singers and musicians in the Montgomery, Alabama area to produce and
record You Answered Me.
These singers and musicians come from the Maxwell AFB Catholic folk
group and parish, the staff of the College of Aerospace Doctrine, Research and
Education (CADRE), as well as current and former students of Booker T.
Washington Magnet High School.

This music is intended not only for use as Responsorial Psalms in worship, but is also equally at home as music during other parts of the mass or service, for events where you want meditative or spiritual music, for contemplation over Scripture, or simply as background for a gathering of any kind.
The musical styles, instrumentation used in the recordings, and overall spirit of the music is uplifting and contemporary in nature. There might be the feeling that this music may not be suitable for use in your parish. Do not dismay -- this music, as recorded, was the audio "vision" of how Paul heard the music while composing it or reading the Psalm. These songs sound just as good with a simple guitar and/or piano background as they do with a full-up backing band and chorus of singers. Remember that you and your group of music ministers are God's instrument -- He plays this music through you.
