The Mountain View Library

Statistics and Information Guide

The City of Mountain View Public Library serves residents of Mountain View, California and other Silicon Valley communities including Palo Alto and Sunnyvale.  This guide provides service and spending details about the library.  It includes comparisons with similar Bay area libraries.

There are many ways to measure library performance.  Looking at these measurements in the context of historical trends makes them more meaningful.  Comparing measurements between similar libraries establishes a standard for performance.

This information is essential in setting budgets.  It insures that the library has enough funding to provide its many services.  Performance comparisons also assure the community that the library is spending its money wisely and is operating efficiently.
