With Kenny Weissberg

Music Without Boundaries, a weekly staple on San Diego radio since 1993, is currently on hiatus while producer/host Kenny Weissberg takes time off to write a book of humorous vignettes that chronicle his experiences, encounters and escapades in a life devoted to music. We are leaving the website up so that listeners can access the playlists that we’ve been posting since 1998.

MWB has been on five very different radio stations during its 14 year history. Here’s the numerical saga:

XHRM (92/5 FM) 1997 31 episodes

KPRI (102.1 FM) 1998-2005 304 episodes

91X (91.1 FM) 2005-2007 59 episodes

Music Without Boundaries is a unique mix of international music, American rock and R&B, blues, jazz, gospel and timeless foolish pleasures. The show harkens back to the days of free-form radio (where Weissberg began his radio voyage in 1971) and is as diverse as it is unpredictable. Within the course of one two-hour program, you might hear Otis Redding, Johnny Clegg, Tom Waits, Dolly Parton, Louis Jordan, Leonard Cohen, Manu Chao, The Byrds, Dion & The Belmonts and Youssou N’Dour. It makes perfect sense and no sense at all.
