FYI: Typically, we introduce a minimum of two new collections a year. Our Spring/Summer 2002 Collection was introduced in February 2002. Our new Fall/Winter 2002/2003 Collection is featured below. We always strive to ship new patterns and products to our retailers before introducing them on-line. Why? To make sure when you see something you want, it's already available!

NEW PATTERNS AND PRODUCTS
--Our Fall/Winter 2002/2003 Collection--

FCB001 Classic Beginnings Socks for the Family

FCB001 Front FCB001 Back

The Classic Beginnings series of booklets features one classic design shape with directions for completing it at a variety of gauges, in a generous range of sizes, and with the support of detailed technique instructions. Classic Beginnings Socks for the Family features a crew length sock worked in the round from the top down (from leg to toe). A variety of leg ribbing and stitch pattern options are included so you can create endless combinations of sock designs from one booklet.

Classic Beginnings Socks for the Family might just become an instant classic--essential for your sock knitting library! It's sure to become one of your favorites whether you are a beginning sock knitter in search of confidence building, easy-to-understand instructions or an experienced sock knitter in search of a resource that's "done the math" for all the sizes and all the gauges!

Techniques described and made easy include: Determining gauge and needle size specifically for sock knitting, needle choices for sock knitting, casting on to double pointed needles, distributing and redistributing stitches/slipping stitches, closing the gap/avoiding a ladder between double pointed needles, working the heel flap, short row heel shaping/turning the heel, picking up stitches to work instep and foot, preventing a hole at the gusset, decreasing stitches at the instep and the toe, and using the Kitchener stitch to close the toe.

Size Range: toddlers (5-7" foot), kids (7-9" foot),
women (9-11" foot), and men (9-12" foot)

Gauges: 5, 5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 7, 7 1/2, and 8 sts per inch
