YOUNG HITS OUT OVER ANIMAL CRITICISM
Actor Alan Young (who played Wilbur in Mister Ed) has hit out at criticism over the use of animals onscreen during an interview with the Los Angeles magazine Mother Jones. Young himself comes under fire in the article for starring alongside Mister Ed. The article reads: 'Even the death of Young's co-star in the early '70s left activists skeptical. "For a horse to die at 19, you're talking middle age," said Barbara Eustiss-Cross, director of the Life Foundation, an environmental group. "I would certainly question it."'
