Support PRB-1 Legislation in New York State

A new bill has been introduced in the New York Assembly as bill # A1565 and New York State Senate as bill # S2893 which would codify the essence of PRB-1 in New York State Law. This bill will help amateurs erect legal antennas and antenna support structures in New York. It is VERY important that you, as a leader in the amateur radio community, distribute this law to as many hams as possible and encourage them to write their State Assemblyman and State Senator. We need their representative to either cosponsor or support this bill!

One Day Boating Safely Classes in Amityville

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1-2 from Amityville, NY, will give one-day safe boating classes in the Spring of 2003. The schedule of classes for 2003 is as follows:

    Copiague High School Adult Education - 3 nights - Thursday, March 13, 20 & 27, 2003, 7:00 pm.

Amityville Village Hall - One day 8 hour class - April 2003

Amityville Village Hall - One day 8 hour class - May 2003

Amityville Village Hall - One day 8 hour class - June 2003

Please contact me if you are interested in attending a future class. You would learn safe boating skills and seamanship in one 8 hour day! This course meets all of the requirements of NY State for boating education for personal watercraft operators and young boaters. The course also qualifies most graduates for marine insurance discounts for safe boating education. Earn your boating safety certificate - the test is given the same day! For more information about the next course, contact George Tranos, Staff Officer for Public Education at 631-286-7562 or via e-mail to n2ga@aol.com
