SPADES: The Card Game by Greg Debacker
VISIT Windswept Software's home page to get a copy of Spades: The Card Game. In this version there are four players around the table - You and three computer opponents. Traditionally Spades is played in Partners which means that the four players are paired up into two teams. You partner is the player directly accross from you while the two players on your left and right are a partnership. You and your partner work together, helping each other, while you try to beat the other team. However, if you want to go it alone you can turn this feature off and test your skills against the three computer opponents while they do their best to humiliate you.
There are 13 sets of opponents supplied (The Marx Brother's, Dead Rock Sars, The Three Stooges, ect), or you can add in your own opponents to play. If you don't know how to play Spades the online help has enough information to get you up and playing. If that is not enough there are Suggest buttons you can click to have the computer help you along. If you're still lost put the game on Auto Play and sit back and watch the action.

(Morgan's Review) Author Jason Hale has created a Spades game with the most realistic audio I have yet to hear. The players actually call out their bid in male and female voices prior to each hand. You can find Spades by Jason Hale by searching under S at Pacific Hi-Tech's fabulous web site. (Coincidentally you can find my game there next to Jason's.) You can also vote for your favorite games and boost author's self esteem!

I'd heard of NetSpades but had yet to be able to try it out. While searching for more Spades games I came across the Internet Gaming Zone. This place is unbelievable! You can play sevaral games (Hearts, Chess,Bridge,Reversi,Go, and of course Spades) live on the net with others. The best part is that it's FREE!!! (For now.) You will need to download the software to play but it's easy to set up and get started playing. All I can say is: 4 Stars and a ray of sunshine!

MORGAN'S Reviews of More Spades Games-
Spades by Spaceways -Written by Laurie and Martin Noel this game allows for several options and game variations for the user to choose from. One problem however is that the mouse pointer is very small in this game. Spaceway's Spades has been available on America On Line for a long time. You can find it in the Software Center.
Spades by DartConsulting- Written by Deanna Bradbury and Arthur Richards this game has a nice animated card feature which actually shows the card sliding across the table. Dart Consulting's Spades is available in America On Line's Software Center.
Spades by Custom Software Concepts- ...coming soon.
Spades by DJ Samuel- ...coming soon.
