Norristown High wrestlers Jim Hartey and Jim Swiggard medaled at the 2000 PIAA AAA High School State Wrestling Championships in Hershey, PA March 8-9, 2000. West Norriton Golden Eagle and NAHS alum Rickey Springman finished 3rd at the prestigious NCAA Midlands Tournament. He defeated the #3, #4 and #6 ranked wrestlers in NCAA Division 1. He lost 6-3 to Otto Olsen of Michigan in the semifinals. Olsen is the #1 ranked wrestler at 174 lbs. in NCAA Division 1.
