A few words in regard to your forefathers. Your Great Grandfather Baker was an Officer in the War of the Revolution against Great Briton. His Birth Place was Wales. After the close f the War he cam with his family to Western NY and located in East and West Henrietti, Monroe Co. he also owned land in Avon, Levington Co. His wifes name was ???? Zillah Betts. His childrens names were Justus Baker (your Grandfather) and Asa Baker. Also Leander Baker. Two Daughters whose names was Electa, and Lovisa. Electa married a man by the name of Dimmick and I have forgotten the name of Lovisa's husband. After his (your Grandfather's) death his wife married Josiah Pangburn.
Your Great Grandfather Sheldon Came from England and he was also an Officer in the Revolution and after the war he settled in the Town of Mendon, Monroe Co., NY. His children were 5 sons and 3 daughters. The sons names were Zolatos, Abner, Austin, William Frederick and ANson. His daughters were Loisa, Rebecka and Lucy. Loisa married a man by the name of Hawks. Rebecka married a man by the name of Cace. Lucy married Justus Baker Sr. William Frederick Sheldon was a physician and lived in Bloomfield. The rest of the sons were successful farmers.
Your Grandfather Baker married Lucy Sheldon of Mendon in the year of 1810. Their family consisted of 5 boys and 2 girls. Boys names Justus Baker Jr. born in West Henrietti Dec. 16, 1813. Almiron Baker born in West Henrietti. Died when four years old, Asa Sheldon Baker, born West Henrietti NY. Abner Baker. Born in West Henrietti. Zillah Baker. Born West Henrietti, married Saxton Diver. Lucy Baker. Born West Henrietti and married Ambrose Cox. William Frderick Baker. Born in West Henrietti. Children Delora Frankie Baker 3 girls 2 died of Typhoid fever. He had married a Miss Jackson I believe. Delora Frankie Baker married.
Your Great Great Grandfather Wing came to this country about 1720 to escape persecution being Quakers but found they were not secure here so they moved to what they suposed was Canada and there your Great Grandfather was born in the year 1752, in what is now Danby, Rutland Co., Vermont. He and one sister left the Quakers and joined the Baptist Church and he married Mary Cornell. They had born to them nine children, seven boys and two girls. Boys names were John, Samuel, Joseph, Giles and Matthew. Girls names were Elizabeth and Katie. Two died in infancy. Elizabeth married Silas Mosier and always lived in Danby. After his (your grandfather's) wife died he moved to Alburg, Grand Isle Co., Vermont
and married his second wife. They had born to them twelve children, twenty one in all. But most of them died without names. His daughter Katie married Stephen Pettis. Colonel in the War of 1812 and Samuel was Captain in the same war and Matthew was volunteer and was in the Battle of Platsburg.
