LNathan (Nate) Butler has committed himself to working full-time as President of COMIX35 / ROX35 Media, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) ministry specializing in worldwide Christian comics training. He is also a founder, board member, and part of the international teaching team, showing publishers and missionaries around the world how to produce comics-style literature which will reach their own cultures with The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Messiah Yeshua!
Nate began doing professional freelance cartoons in 1976. (In addition to cartoonists such as Chester Gould, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby, Nate was inspired by his artistic mother Jacqueline W. Butler.)
Eventually Nate pencilled, inked, scripted, and/or painted for comic books, comic strips, coloring books, trading cards, apparel, and magazines featuring characters such as Archie & Jughead (and Hot Dog), Bugs Bunny, Tiny Toons, The Muppets, The Jetsons, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, Heathcliff, Mighty Mouse, Snuffy Smith, Barbie, Berenstain Bears and many others. He was also Editor/Art Director for Aida-Zee Christian Comics & Magazines, Publisher of the Christian Comics Catalog, Editor/Co-publisher of Christian Comics & Games Magazine.
Awarded the Master Printers of America Certificate of Craftsmanship as a Layout Designer in 1979, he first began teaching cartooning and commercial art over 20 years ago, as an instructor at a local art academy.
Born in 1954, Born Again in 1979, Nate has a wonderful wife (Susan), two grown daughters (Carin and Christy), one son-in-law (Scott), and two grandsons (Michael and Matthew). He lives in New Mexico, USA. (For a longer bio and Nate's testimony click here!)
