Alan Remembered...He will always be in our hearts and our memories. You were taken away to to soon.

Adam Petty...I am trying to find something good in Adam's death. He was doing what he loved and now he is up in heaven with his Grandpa and sitting next to Alan, Neal and Davy talking about the good times they had racing.
Susan
I wish this was not true...about Adam's accident.....I wish there was some way to make the pain the Petty's are feeling go away....it's not fair.....

To all the fallen drivers...This is to let people know that none of the fallen race car drivers will ever be forgotten. Every time the green flag drops and the checkered is flown. We will always remember Davey,Alan,Adam,Neil, Tim and all that have fallen at too early of an age. It was not fair for any of them to go so soon. As long as Nascar is active they will be remembered.

Things you remember forever...You know there's certain things you remember where you were when they happened. JFK getting shot, The landing on the moon, Your favorite drivers first win, etc. I remember where i was when davey won his first race in 1987. Bobby had just flipped down the front stretch and i got worried and hurried home to find what was going on. When Alan Won his first race in 1988 i didn't have cable and not till 1991 did i even know who he was. in 1991 i still remember where i was when DJ won his first race in michigan. 1992 was a year to remember. Davey won the 500, Alan made the greatest come back in sports history, and i found a new driver to root for. I remember the race well because Brett Bodine, another favorite, had been on the pole and was involved in a bad wreck in the first couple of laps. I thought boy this is going to be the kind of day it is, all hell breaking loose. then alan won the championship, and does the polish victory lap. Better than doughnuts i might add. then came the championship banquet. And the film of his life and the tribute song i did it my way. What a way to wrap up the year! Then came april 1 1993. I had gotten up early because i was involved in a 7:20 class in highschool. And dad said ALAN KULWICKI died in a plane crash near bristol. I live two hours south of there and it was tough. I"ll tell you it was tough concentrating in class that day. Especially when i had to break the news to quite a few people. I believe AK's in heaven, and when i get there maybe God will tell me why he took a hero to so many home so early. AK we never really knew ya.

A nostalgic fan remembers...It seems like yesterday that I sat in front of my television cheering on Alan Kulwicki and being overcome by emotion at his winning the Winston Cup. He had the spirit of a fighter, defying the big money teams and winning the cup as an independent car owner. I was completely surprised by the Polish victory lap and awashed in nostalgia at the win by a fellow Wisconsan and the tribute to the states' late champion this season. Thanks Alan for the memories and showing the class of a true champion. We still remember.

Alan Remains An Inspiration...Alan continues to provided us the role model of someone who never gave up! His winning attitude and intense desire to succeed will forever serve as an inspiration in life. From the memories of your Dad and Norm Nelson to celebrating with you at Greenfield High your Championship (bringing it home)...you remain in our thoughts and prayers!
See you in victory lane!

A Special Kind of Man...The letter from Alan is now a little tattered (thank goodness I made several copies) because I read it more often than I should. But lovely letters are meant to be read over and over. There were a few wonderful conversations with him on the phone, but one can't keep a phone in the drawer and hear the same conversation each time it is picked up. So I keep a tattered letter. Alan knew my favorite driver was Bill Elliott, but he also knew that I really, really liked him and cheered him on along with Bill. I am lucky, I still have a driver left to cheer on, but even better than that....I still have a tattered letter.
My dear sweet Alan thank you for sprinkling angel dust on Bill at the Brickyard last Saturday and, in case you're wondering, your gold comb has a very special place in the Elliott Museum.
Hey Alan, take good care of young Casey for Bill, Adam for Kyle, and now sweet Kenny.
I miss you so much,
Jane Moline
Alan Was A True Champion...I cried when Alan won the championship, I also cried when he lost his life. Alan had a lot more wins left. he is the last true champion. Alan started with nothing but the shirt on his back, and ended getting a championship. Alan is greatly missed, and still loved,
John from pa
We miss you *everyday* Alan...I have no magical stories to tell about about Mr. Alan Kulwicki. I've read many of the posts on this site, and to say that it brings a tear to my eye would be an understatement! I'm a certified A&P mechanic, which means that I work on aircraft that people use in everyday life. I think about the people that have affected my life everyday that I do my work. Mr. Kulwicki was taken from all of us by something that I take *very* seriously every day of my life...aviation! Not a day passes when I don't think about the people that have had an affect on my life that were sadly lost, Mr A. kulwicki, Mr D. Allison, Mr Stevie Ray Vaughn, the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd to name a few!
However, these people have a profound affect on my life, and strengthen my resolve everyday to do the best job that I possibly can, and to be sure that nobody else is taken from all of us in this way! To say that Alan and others have an affect on my life everyday is a true statement!
I'm also an only child and fiercely independent, so the statement "Doing it my way" has always been a way of life for me, and is one of the reasons that I loved and respected Alan so much!
I never got to meet Alan in real life, but I look forward to the day when I get to meet him in the lap of our creator!
I miss you Sir!!!
Mark R....aka Fan since 75
I met Alan twice and it was a magical moment. I was teased for liking him, but never gave up. Just the mention of his name is a tearful moment. I still keep him hanging on my walls and have a piece of cloth he signed his name on. I heard of his death at 4am the next morning before work. I dressed in black.

Miss #7...a kulwicki fan since 85,always will be. I didnt get to see him race at W.I.R.,a track i would race from 1988 to 1992, but i saw almost every cup race he ran in on tv,saw him run at rockingham and michigan, also visited his race shop. After he won the championship i was as happy as he was; a feat that will most likly never happen again. He left us way too soon, there were alot more wins and championships ahead for him. I miss watching #7 hooters car. I became a Mark Martin fan because he was another guy that has worked hard, drives clean, drives smart, like alan; and i always cheer for Dave Marcis, the last of the independent drivers, like alan ,racing on a small budget, but racing because its what you love to do. Alan i'll never forget you.

Alan is the reason I bought a new Thunderbird in March of '93. I still drive it which has a personalized tag on it NASCAR7.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ONE TO ROOT FOR THE UNDER FUNDED AND THE UNDERDOG, HENCE THE REASON I STARTED ROOTING FOR BILL ELLIOTT BACK WHEN I WAS WATCHING A RIVERSIDE RACE WHICH HE ENDED UP WINNING. SO THIS IS ALSO THE REASON I BECAME AN AK FAN. HE DID SO MUCH WITH SO LITTLE. HE WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST THINKERS IN NASCAR. I ABSOLUTLY LOVED THE UNDERBIRD AND THE DUEL BETWEEN ALAN AND BILL FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP. I DONT THINK YOU WILL EVER SEE A CLOSER BATTLE. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE LOOKING AT MY OLD DIECAST CARS THE OTHER DAY; THERE BURIED IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX WAS THE FIRST CAR ALAN DROVE, THIS WAS THE ONLY CAR THAT I PULLED OUT OF THE BOX THAT MADE ME REFLECT ON ALANS CAREER AND HIS FANTASTIC PERSONALITY,I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM AS THE BEST EVER.
FOREVER AK
