creates his amazing range of wheel thrown pottery
and sculpture in his Chepstow workshop on the
Wales/England border.
Ned loves the physical act of shaping pots on the wheel from soft , plastic clay. The stoneware and porcelain bowls, dishes and Jugs he produces have a fluidity of form and rich and vibrant glazes. He is an enthusiastic cook and many of his thrown products are ideal for preparing and serving food.
Ned does not restrict himself to exploiting his throwing skills, he uses soft sheets of clay to shape sculptures and a vases based on the human form. He also works with great precision using sprigs and stamps to create sculptures which reflect his fascination with the landscape and architecture.
Much of his work is commissioned .The clients range from individuals through
local groups to multi-national companies. Click to

Opening the kiln after a firing is always exciting and sometimes nerve wracking.
How will the pots have survived their journey to white heat and back? Will
they have collapsed, distorted or cracked? Will the glazes have run, dropped
off, be beautiful and vibrant or dull and boring? See the best and sometimes
the worst of the latest firing at the Workshop in
"hot pots" straight
from the kiln - updated regularly.
