Shares a workshop in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales with Ned Heywood.
Julia particularly enjoys the figurative properties of jugs and teapots. She throws in sections and rejoins at an angle to enhance their posture. So creating relaxed fat bellied jugs and rather perky teapots, all with a touch of humour.
Decoration comprises of coloured slips being poured freely over the surfaceand finally glazed with a rich blue earthenware glaze which enhances the tonal range of the slips beneath.
