I have been a wargamer for more than 25 years. Since 1984 I have been almost exclusively a miniatures gamer, and since 1995 I have been using 25mm figures primarily. Although I have gamed in many periods and have deep interests in periods as different as the Pacific Theater of WWII, The American War of Independence, The English Civil War, and the Later Roman Republic/Hellenistic/Maccabean period; the time frame which has ALWAYS enthralled me has been the Bronze Age. I think it must have been an exposure at a very young age to the movie "The Ten Commandments" with its thundering masses of chariots, and the drama of operas like Verdi's "Aida," and of course the great Bible stories of prophets and warriors, which has made the period of the God-Kings and clay tablets, my era of choice for gaming.
Just for the record, I game with 25mm New Kingdom Egyptians, Mitanni, and Middle Assyrians. When I lived in the national capital area I was a member of the Potomac Wargamers and regularly gamed against Mssr.s Bob Luddy, Walt Leach, Kevin Swanson, Joe Walukonis, Craig Weichel, Ben Pecson, Ed Wilson, John Shirey, Nick Bowler, and when available, Scott Holder. In Eastern PA I have gamed with Dave Boor and Greg Ritchie.
Recently Walt Leach and I organized a huge Bronze Age/Biblical Chariot battle. The table was 30' x 7.5', 17 people participated, and we used more than 230 chariot elements and 5000 pts of troops. Check out the photos!
