I
am excited in being able to invite you to this month’s
Vocal Lines concert. It’s going to be a doozy!
This month, November Tenth at 6:30, we have
Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera Tenor, David
Adams! Originally heralding from the great state of Texas,
Mr. Adams joined us here in KC to attend the Conservatory of
Music at UMKC. After completing his Master’s degree, David
relocated to New York to pursue his career in Opera. He
returns, not only as a successful performer, having sung at
the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera and the Wolf
Trap Opera Company to name a few, but also is returning as a
denizen of Kansas City!
We
at Vocal Lines thought how wonderful it would be to welcome
David back with a concert, but then we thought, why should
we have a concert for him? Instead, we asked HIM to come
sing for us and show us the reason why
we are proud to have him back in this community.
So
pry a wad off of that sticky wallet and find some change in
the bottom of your purse, because, here is talent that needs
to be seen…and experienced. That’s what Vocal Lines
strives for and that’s what you get. Awesome live music,
handpicked from our broad city, region and nation then
driven with burning prods to this urban cowtown.
You aren’t going to get the ‘big stars’ here at Vocal
Lines, but you are getting folks that either should be, or
will be stars and you can say “I saw them first at the
Madrid Theatre at Vocal Lines Concert Series!"
"The Madrid was renovated so the Kansas City community would have a venue to come together and enjoy beautiful music, such as through the Vocal Lines Concert Series," remarked Kerry Duffin, owner of The Madrid Theatre.
"I
wanted to give to Kansas City my appreciation for good,
diverse music. It's simple," says Nathan Granner,
"It's about good singing, that's all."
Tickets
are $15.00 for Adults and $10.00 for Students (with ID)
& seniors. Children under 12 are free. If you would like
