The Canberra

This was one of the most successful of the great postwar blossoming of the aircraft industry, producing such aircraft as the Hawker Hunter, the Lightning, and the V bombers.
The Canberra was designed to fill the same niche as the wartime Mosquito - fast, and yet with a reasonable payload or reconnaisance capability. It sold to many other countries, and were used, but without much success, by the Argentinians in the Falkland conflict.
it set up many records in its early days for long distance flight. It has been said of an aircraft, that if it looks right, then it probably flies right. And the Canberra was a very elegant aircraft.
