This is the easiest and tastiest brownie recipe I've ever tried.  My daughter absolutely loves these.

Amazing Brownies

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup flour

1 stick butter

5 tablespoons cocoa

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans -- optional

Preheat oven to 350. Grease an 8 X 8 square cake pan. Chop nuts. With wooden spoon, beat together all ingredients except nuts in a large bowl. Add nuts. Mix together. Pour into greased pan. Put on center rack in oven and bake for 30 minutes. Leave in pan to cool.
