For millions of years, sharks have thrived in the Gulf of Mexico. When prehistoric sharks perished, they sank to the ocean floor where they were covered by layers of sand and silt. Over time, the cartilage of their bodies disintegrated. Water and storm action eventually swept the sand away, exposing the teeth. Some are washed up on shore with the changing tides and waves. Identification of shark teeth, which come in many different shapes and sizes, is relatively easy. All teeth in the jaws of a particular type of shark are the same shape. They vary only in size. However, each species of shark (ie.Hammerhead, Tiger, Bull, Sand, Lemon etc.)has it's own unique and distinct quality.

I hope you will enjoy these prehistoric treasures captured in jewelery. The items below represent the style of necklaces and earrings. The teeth will vary somewhat, since no two teeth are exactly alike.
