1(C) Akira Tanihira got a job in Taisekiji through Nikken

Around Taisekiji, many restaurants and food stores became available, and the management of his coffee shop did not have much future. Akira wanted to change the job. Hisako first asked Rev. Nichiyu Yoshida of Myorenji whether Akira could work for the Internal Affair Division of Taisekiji. Rev. Yoshida said "No", and even contacted the Division not to hire Akira.

So, Hisako went herself to directly see Nikken and requested this matter. Nikken accepted and Akira started working in the Internal Affair Division of Taisekiji in 1983. His first job was to buy a land on the northern side of Hinodeso from the land lord. Akira did not consult any body, except for Nikken, and had Taisekiji to pay $4 million.

Since then, a request to buy a land for Nichiren Shoshu temple all came to Akira. Whenever a local temple wanted to expand the temple land, build a grave yard, or make a parking lot, it should consult with Akira. Akira, after investigation, counsults with Nikken. Nikken takes care of those who flatter him. Therefore, suddenly Akira gained a strong power in Nikken's inner circle.

Both Akira Tanihira and Nikken do not care about breaking the Law as long as they can accomplish the goal.....especially making a profit. They broke the law twice. The first was to expand the area in front of Sanmon gate in 1990. This area belongs partly to the city and partly to the prefecture. Therefore, it was very difficult to get the permission. Nikken asked Akira to take care of it. Akira consulted with K construction company and made Taisekiji the contractor. Then completed the expansion quickly. However, this was definitely against the Farm Land Law and the decision that the constraction violated the Law was announced.

The second was the expansion of the Taisekiji's tomb. Taisekiji had a long tradition to built tombs in the area where it was not approved, and sold to believers. The price for a tomb is 1 million Yen ($10,000). Akira built 350 tombs on the illegal land during the year of 1990 for Taisekiji, a profit of $35,000,000. Those who had bought tomb in these ilegal land are now suing Taisekiji.

As the amount of money which Akira handles goes up, the trust by Nikken also goes up. Thus, Akira has firmely built his position as a member of Nikken's inner circle. Akira also proposed to start a company which handles various businesses for the priests, which include travel, overseas trip, car insurance and body guard. It is said that Akira invested 3.5 million Yen, and Rev. Shido Ogawa and Shinryo Ishii invested together 3 million Yen. The name of the company, "Kiyomasa." was given by Nikken.

Akira also has a connection with police, since he takes care of body guard of Nikken on his trip. Akira also has a relationship with Mr. Shizuka Kamei, who was in the police field before and now is a Congress man from Liberal Democratic Party. Kamei is famous for leading various anti-Soka Gakkai activities.
