Yuriko often got drunk. When she was drunk-driving a car near Taisekiji, she mismanaged the wheel and had her car dropped into a ditch. She was seen in the high class hotel “Yagiu no Sho” in Shuzenji City, Izu, drinking with a group of her friends and enthused in gambling “Oicho Kabu” game (which a lady is not supposed to play).

On 8 November 1984, the completion of remodeling Taikeiji (Chief Priest: Jisai Watanabe) was conducted by Nikken. Gikan and Yuriko were naturally there. After that, Gikan and Yuriko were invited to a dinner party held at the high class hotel, “Hakone Tenjyo-en.” Yuriko was in a good mood because everything was done by her suggestions, and the ceremony was a great success. She was quite drunk.

Testimony by Jisai Watanabe: After the party, Yuriko stopped at a Soba-restaurant inside the hotel to eat Soba. Since Yuriko was drunk and in a happy mood, a male guest joked her, “You are in a good humor!” Yuriko instantly got mad and shouted to him, “You punk, what are you saying?” The guest was also drunk, and talked back, “What do you mean punk!” It developed quickly to a dangerous, explosive situation. But the master of Soba restaurant, who knew who Yuriko was, somehow calmed the man. He felt scared and quickly disappeared.

Everyone was shocked, but Gijun made a bitter smile and said that this happens quite often. When got drunk, Yuriko could easily become explosive. Since she is arrogant, she easily loses her temper and shouts even on a trivial matter. Indeed, she has inherited the gene of the “Instant Boiler.” Thus, Yuriko is becoming the “Empress” of the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood.
