Khwaja Mir Dard

Khwaja Mir Dard was born in a Sufi family. He is largely credited with the honour of establishing mystic poetry in Urdu. Dard's language is simple and his thoughts pure. Dr Syed Abdullah mentioned that Dard's greatness as a poet is not solely due to the presence of mystic thoughts in his poetry but because of the fact that his entire poetry sounds like the work of a Sufi.
