FIRAQ GHORAKHPURI

A professor of English literature, an outstanding literary critic and one of major Urdu poets of this century, Firaq's poetry is both traditional and modern. He himself once said that while adopting some characteristics of the Western literature he tried to the utmost to maintain the traditional spirit and flavour of Urdu poetry in his writings.
