NEW SELECTION
Mustufa Zaidi made his mark in
pre-partition subcontinent at the tender age of 17 as Taig Allahabadi catching the eyes of
such stalwarts as Josh Malihabadi. Zaidi had a masters in English literature and also
served in Civil Service until tragedy deprived the world of urdu poetry of one of its most
romantic poets in 1970.
The following verse was almost
prophetic.
