Dr. Neville L. Holder Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Dr. Neville L. Holder has been Vice-president of the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter since 1996 and a member of NOBCChE since 1987. He is also the Science Bowl Facilities Chairperson and a member of the Scholarship and Educational Committees. Professionally, Dr. Holder is a Senior Research Scientist for Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceutical R&D in Collegeville, PA. He started his Rhone-Poulenc Rorer career in 1992 as a researcher in the Process Chemistry Department focusing on preparation of reference standards of drug subatances and intermediates and the chromatographic isolation of impurities and decomposition products of drug substances. In 1968, Neville started his professional career as a research chemist with Gillette Research Institute in Rockville, MD and was promoted in 1973 to the rank of Senior Research Chemist. In 1978, Neville joined the SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceutical R&D in King of Prussia, PA as an Associate Senior Investigator. In 1992 he moved to Rhone Poulenc Rorer. Over the years, Dr. Holder has authored and published 36 articles in professional journals and one patent on the polymorphism of a drug substance. He has also reviewed many articles for journals. He has been cited in several publications, including Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in America, NOBCChE News, "Accents", The International Newsletter of Collegeville and Croix de Berny, Collegeville Edition, Rhone-Poulenc-Rorer, and SmithKline Beecham's Newsletter. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society, and the Philadelphia Organic Chemists Club. Dr. Holder received his BSc. and MS degrees with honors in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of the West Indies in 1965 and 1968, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Waterloo in 1973. Neville is married with three childern. He is a native of Barbados, Virgin Islands, and he became a US Citizen in 1982. His civic efforts involve duty as a Committee Member of the Boy Scouts of America and INROADS Philadelphia. |
