The Story: While saving a patient from the effects of an earthquake that unexpectedly rocked the Sunset Medical Center, Dr. Beth Chapel was blinded by an explosion of several oxygen tanks. Her mentor, Dr. Charles McNider (AKA Dr. Mid-Nite), and a team of physicians gave Beth an ocular implant from her pineal gland, partially restoring her vision. Though her eyes were too sensitive for normal light, Beth developed extremely perceptive vision in complete darkness. Dr. Chapel served as both a member of Infinity Inc., and the team's physician.
Dr. Midnight was killed in the poorly written tale that was Eclipso issue # 13. The DC Universe is lessened by the loss of this character.
